Taste of Edmonton 2016 entertainment line up: Prozzäk, Shawn Desman and more

There’s a blast to the pop past in this summer’s all-Canadian Taste of Edmonton entertainment lineup, which also features rock, country and electronic acts.

The late ’90s pop duo Prozzäk is among the list of performers. The band, consisting of Jay Levine and James Bryan McCollum, released hit singles Sucks to Be You and Strange Disease, while performing as two cartoon characters: Simon and Milo. The band re-surfaced in 2015, and last fall released its first single in over five years.

Other notable acts in the lineup: Edmonton-born Alyssa Reid, whose single Alone Again which became a major hit in Canada and parts of Europe; Canadian pop/R&B singer Shawn Desman; and folk musician Ben Caplan.

The performances will run nightly in Churchill Square from July 21 to July 30, as part of the Taste of Edmonton.

The food festival has become a summer tradition that celebrates all Edmonton’s culinary delights, featuring dozens of local restaurants. In recent years the festival has expanded to also offer a wide array of beer and wine tastings, food trucks, as well as cooking workshops, demonstrations and competitions.

The menu for this year’s festival will be released later this summer.
