A 38-year-old Toronto firefighter has been identified as a woman killed in a cycling accident in the Kelso Conservation Area of Milton, Ont., after falling close to 25 metres (80 feet) off of a cliff.
Halton Regional police responded to a call at 10:23 a.m. Thursday after the cyclist, identified as 38-year-old Sara Rosen, fell from the cliff while riding on the park’s trails. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Toronto Professional Fire Fighters’ Association President Frank Ramagnano confirmed to Global News that Rosen was a firefighter with Toronto Fire Station 443 in Etobicoke.
The TPFFA recognized Rosen on Twitter as part of a campaign to encourage more organ donors to register last year, after she reportedly donated a kidney to her brother in 2004.

Ramagnano said Rosen was a 15-year veteran of Toronto Fire and was very involved in a number of charitable causes. Police originally said Rosen was 35 years old, but later clarified she was 38.
She was also described as someone who lived an active lifestyle — an avid snowboarder and recent ski patrol member.
Halton paramedics spokesman said staff were called to the area, but did not transport anyone to hospital.
A spokesman for Ornge said an air ambulance was also called to the scene but did not transfer a patient.
Halton Conservation says parts of the park and hiking trails are temporarily closed as the investigation continues.
