In partnership with the Whitehorse Human Society, the Kelowna SPCA has transferred dozens of Yukon dogs to the Kelowna shelter.

The dogs include Holly, the Rottweiler Cross, who we featured on Global Okanagan’s adopt a pet.

She and her puppies were dumped in a river in the Yukon. While her puppies couldn’t be saved, she was rescued and flown to Kelowna where she has since been adopted.

Air North has helped make the initiative possible by providing free flights.

This week the groups were recognized for the program with an award from the provincial SPCA.
