‘L’ driver gets second speeding ticket with mom in the car ‘supervising’

It was an expensive Mother’s Day for one young man and his mom in Abbotsford.

Cst. Ian MacDonald, with the Abbotsford Police, says the young male driver was with his mother in the car on Sunday, heading along Highway 1, when they were pulled over. He was going 130 km/h in a 100 km/h zone.

MacDonald said this is the second time the young driver has received a speeding ticket.

This time, he received a $500 fine. His record will go to the Superintendent of Motor Vehicles.

Last week, a ‘L’ driver had his car impounded in Mission after being caught going 147 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
