On Friday, as the PQ caucus convened in Quebec City to choose an interim leader, the 46-year-old politician declared she had numerous supporters within the party.
Hivon is also said to have received a “wave of love” from party militants following Pierre Karl Péladeau’s sudden resignation Monday.

During the last leadership race in 2014, Hivon backed the candidacy of her colleague, Alexandre Cloutier, who finished second behind Péladeau.
Although Cloutier says he’s already made a decision on whether or not he’ll be throwing his hat in the ring, he has yet to make his decision public.
