Homicide detectives investigating death of man found bleeding in downtown Edmonton

Edmonton Homicide detectives are investigating the suspicious death of a man who was found bleeding on a street in the McCauley neighbourhood.

Police were called to 106 Avenue, just west of 96 Street, just before 1 a.m Thursday morning. A man with obvious signs of trauma was found bleeding on the ground. Police attempted CPR, but the man died on scene.

Police said six to seven people were reportedly seen fleeing the area at the time of the incident. The EPS Homicide Section is working to identify suspects.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Friday.
