Edmonton police lay charges after woman shot to death, 2nd suspect on the loose

EDMONTON – Edmonton police have charged a 29-year-old man, and are searching for a second suspect, in connection with a woman’s shooting death earlier this week.

Chad Neville Boysis was charged with a list of offences, including second-degree murder, attempted murder and aggravated assault, in the death of Sabrina Papin.

The 27-year-old woman died after she showed up at an Edmonton hospital with a gunshot wound Tuesday evening.

A 31-year-old man also sustained a gunshot wound. He remained in hospital Friday. Police would not say where the pair sustained their injuries.

Detectives are now looking for Brian Joseph Boysis, 34, who is wanted on an Alberta-wide warrant for several charges including second-degree murder, attempted murder and aggravated assault.

Police believe Brian Boysis has ties to Calgary. Anyone with information about the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #77 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.

At this point it’s not clear how or if the men are related.
