Monday marks 30 years since Expo 86 began.
If you lived in B.C. back in the 80s, you’ll likely be feeling a lot of nostalgia today.
On May 2, 1986, the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with Prime Minister Brian Mulroney, officially opened the world’s fair, an event that helped shape British Columbia and became a turning point in the province’s history.
The theme of the Expo was transportation and communication, and it’s the reason we now have SkyTrain and Science World.

The Museum of Vancouver is celebrating the 30th anniversary of Expo 86 by turning back the clock for a day of special 1986 pricing: people will be able to get in for $4 today.
