A paraglider was rescued after landing in some power lines on the North Shore Monday night.

Firefighters arrived at the scene in a neighbourhood near the base of Grouse Mountain at around 8 p.m. They found a paraglider who landed on some BC Hydro wires.

Hydro then cut off power allowing firefighters to cut the man free as onlookers cheered.

The paraglider appears to have been uninjured.
