A 21-year-old Toronto man has surrendered to police on a second-degree murder charge in connection with the fatal shooting of a 28-year-old man in a parking lot behind an apartment building in Etobicoke early Thursday morning.
Toronto police responded to the shooting just before 3 a.m. in the Vanevery Street and Royal York Road area.
Officers on scene located a man in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound and he was transported to hospital in life-threatening condition but later died of his injuries.

On Friday, police identified the shooting victim as Daniel John Lypka, 28, of Toronto.
Tre Williams Robert-Stevens, 21, of Toronto, was identified as the suspect and was wanted for second-degree murder.

Police said he was considered armed and dangerous and believed to be driving a 2001 red Honda Civic 2-door vehicle with Ontario licence plate BYHE 883 with a sunroof and a rear spoiler.

Robert-Stevens was arrested on Friday at about 4 p.m. but his vehicle has not yet been located. He is scheduled to appear in a Toronto court on Saturday.
