Alcohol a factor in serious QEII rollover north of Calgary: RCMP

CALGARY – RCMP believe alcohol was a factor in a serious rollover on the QEII Highway north of Airdrie on Wednesday.

It happened just after midnight in the area where Highway 2 meets Highway 72.

RCMP said the driver, a 35-year-old woman, suffered minor injures. A spokesperson for Calgary EMS confirmed she was transported to the Foothills Medical Centre in stable condition.

The driver’s name hasn’t been released.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Although RCMP had originally told Global News someone had died in the crash, they later clarified a woman had suffered minor injuries.
