Clean up underway at Waterways Houseboats

A Sicamous company has been left to count the cost and clean up the damage after being in the centre of last week’s flash flooding.

Crews are now working around the clock to get Waterways Houseboat Company back in business. The company has been closed since flood waters tore through their parking lot 11 days ago burying vehicles in rocks and dirt. Now a local towing company is working to extract around 100 cars from the debris all of which are write-offs having once been submerged in the flood waters.

The closure has taken a financial toll on the company costing them around $700 000 in lost revenue on top of the cost of the repairs.
Waterways is hoping to be able to re-open July 12.
