A heads up for anyone using transit during the morning commute.
Starting today, the Compass Card fare gates will be closed at all SkyTrain stations.
Last Friday, a technical glitch in the system saw all of the gates at Millennium and Expo Line stations stuck shut for about 20 minutes. That meant no one could enter or leave.
But so far, the only problems this week seems to be people confusing exits and entrances and remembering that bus tickets can no longer transfer to SkyTrain.
Meanwhile, the federal government is promising almost $500,000 for the region’s much-needed transportation infrastruture projects.
They’ve rolled out their plan to offer funds as part of a 10 year, $120 billion plan.
But the announcement was short on information, with no details about which specific projects will receive funding. Some of the public transportation projects, which could potentially benefit include Light Rail in Surrey, a new Patullo Bridge or a rapid transit line to UBC.
