Her mother said she has been worried about the dog for a while.

“I told [the owner] Friday, ‘Please take away this dog from my daughter because she is very scared of that dog,’” she said.

“He said, ‘Don’t worry. He’s friendly. He only wants to say hi to her’ and I said, ‘Don’t do that.'”

Jas Rehal with the City of Surrey said they are looking into the incident.

“It’s still very early on and we have to go through our process to determine our next steps,” he said.

Jazira said she has been having nightmares about the dog and is now scared to return home.

Her family strongly believes the pit bull should be destroyed.
