The bear, like Korchinski, was getting a start to his day and having a nice morning stretch. He then decided that he had an itch that needed to be scratched.

“He walked up the back slope area and went right up to the tree and started scratching his back on the tree,” Korchnski said.

He said he occasionally films bears that pass through his backyard and posts the videos to his YouTube channel. He said he always makes sure to keep a safe distance while filming.

“Some people have commented that it’s cute to see this bear rubbing his back against a tree, but you have to remember they are omnivores and we shouldn’t take them for granted,” he said.
