A homeless Florida couple who have been together for 22 years finally tied the knot after a few Good Samaritans heard about the pair’s struggles.
Evelyn Adams and Rocky Barlett have been homeless for the last three years living with their dog in a wooded area in South Tampa. They have been through a lot together, including Adams losing her son in a car crash.
“It’s hard. I wouldn’t want anybody to go through losing a child cause it’s hard. I lost my baby … that’s just my baby,” Adams told WFLA News.
Even through their hardship, the one thing the couple always remained hopeful of was getting married. However, they were unable to afford the $93 wedding licence.

But that changed on April 1 after their story garnered attention from members in the Tampa Bay and Dover community.
Cross Creek Ranch offered Adams and Barlett’s wedding service for free, while others donated a dress and a tuxedo to the newlyweds.
“This is a dream come true and everybody that has did all this – it has just been a dream come true,” Adams told WLFA.
On top of that, the couple also moved into an apartment in Tampa through a housing and urban development’s continuum of care program.
“We look forward to a new life, to start over, that’s about all I can say, it is going to be a start over,” Barlett added.
