The Facebook video – 12 years of Dory – has been a big hit. It’s already been viewed more than 18,000 times.

Ethan has autism and his mom, Allison Laughren, says the toy fish helps him stay calm.

“When you find something that you know makes your child so happy … I’m just so appreciative of the movie,” said Laughren.

In her Facebook post, Laughren said “through sickness and health, good times and bad, autism and epilepsy diagnoses, the one thing that has remained constant in Ethan’s life is Dory.”

She posted the video on Facebook and sent it to Ellen, the voice behind the movie character to show her the impact Dory has had on Ethan’s life.
