Global News / Ben Jonah

A Toronto woman is facing a murder charge after police allege she intentionally ran down her mother in a furniture store parking lot.

Police say they received a call around 2 p.m. Tuesday that a woman had been struck by a vehicle at the store near Highway 401 and 400 and found her on the ground suffering from obvious trauma.

Sixty-five-year-old Eleanor Campbell, of Toronto, was declared dead at the scene.

Investigators allege Campbell was deliberately hit.

Her 43-year-old daughter Michelle Campbell is charged with second-degree murder.

She was scheduled to appear in court Wednesday morning.
