Quebec provincial police look for two suspects in Terrebonne shooting

TERREBONNE, Que. – A major police operation is underway north of Montreal after at least one man was shot and killed.

The victim was transported to hospital, but was pronounced dead.

“We’re very far from giving the name, we haven’t confirmed the age yet,” said Audrianne Bilaudeau with the Sûreté du Québec.

Authorities are looking for two suspects, one of whom they believe was wearing a ski mask.

The shooting took place about 10:45 a.m. in the parking lot of a business in Terrebonne.

“[The case] was transferred to us because it is treated as murder and we’re still looking for the suspect,” said Bilaudeau.

“It is written in police law that we have the expertise to investigate these kinds of cases.”

A burned-out minivan was found not far from where the incident took place.

Quebec provincial police investigators have taken over the case from municipal police in the area.

Terrebonne police have put up a large perimeter.
