There is no tsunami risk and no reports of any damage after a 5.2-magnitude earthquake off the coast of Vancouver Island this afternoon.
It happened approximately 102 km west of Port Alice at 3:45 p.m., and had a depth of 10 kilometres.
The same area regularly experiences small earthquakes, none of which have been felt by humans.

“There are no reports of damage, and none would be expected,” said Earthquakes Canada in a statement.
