Sheldon Kennedy to speak at National Mental Health Conference in Winnipeg

Sheldon Kennedy was in Swift Current Friday night to help the city launch a certification program to help protect children.

WINNIPEG – Inspiring stories full of personal struggle and success will be shared at a mental health conference starting in Winnipeg on Wednesday.

According to the Mood Disorders Association of Manitoba, seven in 10 people with a mental illness do not receive treatment.

This week’s conference is aiming to change that and will feature key note speaker Sheldon Kennedy.

There will also be 12 workshops available facilitated by distinguished speakers in the field of mental health.

The conference runs until Friday March 18 at the Victoria Inn.
