Captain America and Wonder Woman are famous for always coming to the rescue, but on Sunday they were the ones that needed the rescuing.
Party performers Madison Pais and Ben Dobrusin were on their way to Carter Buchan’s fourth birthday party in New Hampshire when Pais’ car ran out of gas.
Stranded on an interstate, the costumed duo was afraid of missing their gig and losing their jobs.
That’s when Trooper Mark Suttmeier swooped in to help. After finding out that they were on their way to entertain at a child’s birthday party, Suttmeier offered to take them in his cruiser.

“Instead of giving up, they were doing anything they could to make this boy’s birthday as good as they could and to keep their word,” Suttmeier said in an interview with NBC.
When the costumed crime fighters arrived at the Buchan’s home, the adults thought it was an act.
“We all ran outside as the cop car came up the hill with the flashing blue lights on,” mom Venessa Buchan told Global News.
“They [the children] were just so excited.”
Some of the party attendees even claimed having the superheroes there was “better than Disney.”
Pais is thanking Suttmeier for his act of kindness, saying he saved her job.
“He’s such a nice guy and he was so cool about it,” said Pais. “He was the true hero.”
