One person involved in a shooting in Abbotsford on Thursday evening is not expected to survive their injuries, according to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT).
IHIT has now taken conduct of the case and said in a press conference on Monday that the other man who was injured in the shooting is in hospital in critical but stable condition.
The incident happened in a home in the 33300-block of Hawthorne Avenue shortly before 9 p.m. The two men involved, aged 21 and 22, are both well-known to police.
IHIT says that the exact reason for the shooting is unknown but they believe it is part of the Townline Hill conflict.

Although the victims are not being identified, family members of the two men are appealing to the public for the violence and the deaths, as a result of it, to stop.
Abbotsford Police Sgt. Casey Vinet said the Townline Hill conflict has been going on for more than a year and the department has taken “significant enforcement” in the area and made a number of arrests. The Abbotsford Police Department will continue to have an increased presence in the area.
IHIT is appealing to the public for help in locating a dark-coloured sedan that was seen driving erratically on Hawthorne Avenue at 9:20 p.m. on March 10.
