Sarah Palin pulls out of Trump event after husband injured in snowmobile crash

Sarah Palin cancelled a campaign appearance at a Donald Trump rally Monday after her husband was injured in a snowmobile accident.

“Todd Palin was in a bad snow machine accident last night and is currently hospitalized,” the Trump campaign said in a statement. “Governor Palin is returning to Alaska to be with her husband and looks forward to being back on the campaign trail soon. Mr Trump’s thoughts and prayers are with the Palin family at this time.”

The former 2008 vice-presidential nominee was scheduled to appear at an event in Florida for the GOP presidential front runner.

Palin had endorsed Trump in January saying “He’s got the guts to wear the issues that need to be spoken about and debate on his sleeve, where the rest of some of these establishment candidates they just want to duck and hide.”

GOP presidential hopeful Ted Cruz said via Twitter that his “thoughts and prayers” are with the Palin family.

Palin’s cancellation comes two days after Trump scrapped a rally in Chicago due to protests.

The number of protesters at Trump’s rallies has grown over the past couple of weeks and he has faced criticism for inciting violence, which he has repeatedly denied.
