The conference brings together undergrad, grad and PhD students from across Canada to present their health research.

“It’s a student led and student run conference so it’s great for that first undergrad or grad student. You give an oral and a poster presentation to develop those presentation skills,” said Julia Kontak, co-chair of the event.

The theme this year is “Expanding the Horizons of Health”, which focuses on all the different levels of health care in Canada.

“I think graduate students sometimes tend to get very focused in on their specific research interests, so bringing in presenters from all across the country to talk about just how much health research there is, can really open our eyes to see what else is going on out there,” added Ella Vermier, co-chair.

This year, the conference has expanded to a national level. There are over 100 presenters from 21 different universities around the country taking part in the weekend event.
