The warm weather may be good for residents but it’s bad news if you’re the Edmonton snow fight.
A statement posted on Twitter Friday said the snow fight in the Capital Region has been postponed until next year.
“Though on one hand we’re grateful to Mother Nature for the unseasonably warm weather we’ve had all winter, we’re a little annoyed by the lack of snow in both Edmonton and Calgary,” reads the statement written by Robin Mazumder and Jeff Chase.
“As most of you probably know, snow is a requirement for snowballs.”
In December, organizers said they were waiting for the snow to start falling so they could send out alerts to the hundreds of people signed up for the snow battle.
The inaugural snow fight took place in 2014 in Kinsmen Park. It took form in a massive flash mob. The idea was sparked by the idea residents should embrace the winter season and everything that came with it.
