TORONTO – Durham Regional Police are warning the public about a man who posed as a handyman to enter a Clarington, Ont. home and steal cash.
Police say the incident occurred around 2 p.m. Wednesday at a home on Old Scugog Road in the Enniskillen area. A man knocked at the door and said he was seeking a storage space for his snowmobiles, and could offer home repair services in exchange.
Police say the suspect measured a floor space for repairs then left to get supplies, at which time the resident realized that money was missing from his wallet.
The suspect is described as a white male, 30 to 35 years old, approximately 5’10” and 225 lbs, wearing an NHL jersey, brown jacket and a black hat. He may have been driving a pickup truck.
