GOLDEN, B.C. – A B.C. judge has handed three snowmobilers $250 fines and ordered each to contribute a further $250 to a snowmobiling group, after the sledders had to be rescued from Glacier National Park near Golden.
A fourth man is due to appear in a courtroom in Golden today and court records show his three co-accused were sentenced yesterday for violating a National Parks Act regulation.

The group was sledding in Glacier National Park, which does not allow motorized activities, and had to be rescued after becoming stuck in heavy snow on January 16.
In addition to the convictions and fines, the group — three from Alberta and one from Saskatchewan — also had to pay $4,000 to have their stranded machines helicoptered out of the park.
