EDMONTON — Finance Minister Joe Ceci says Alberta’s budget will come down on April 14.
Ceci made the announcement on the first day of the legislature session.
He has already signalled it will not be a good news day.
The deficit for 2016-17 was originally forecast to be about $5.4 billion, but Ceci now says it could be double that, to $10 billion.

He says the rebound in oil prices has not happened as forecast, forcing his department to make some difficult decisions.
The government, in the throne speech, promises renewed initiatives this spring to grow and diversify the economy and get it off what people have called the oil-price roller coaster.
