Sawed-off shotgun, machete found in stolen car involved in crash

SASKATOON – A 20-year-old man is facing numerous charges after the stolen vehicle he was driving struck a parked car in Saskatoon. At around 5:30 a.m. CT on Saturday, officers observed a vehicle matching the description of a stolen car.

While police were following the vehicle to confirm if it was stolen, the car entered an alley and hit a parked car near 19th Street West and Avenue R South.

The driver was arrested without incident.

A search of the car revealed a sawed-off shotgun and a machete.

Police say the young man will remain in custody until he’s seen by a justice of the peace.
