WINNIPEG — Winnipeg police are looking for a suspect after a nine-year-old girl was approached by a man in the St. Vital area Thursday afternoon.
Police said the man tried to engage the child in a conversation in the area of Fernwood Avenue and St. George Road at around 3:30 p.m.
She started walking away, but the man followed and continued to speak to her. The girl began running away and eventually made her way to a friend’s house. She was not injured as a result of the incident, police said.
The suspect is described as a white man, in his 40s, with a heavy build and a white beard.
