There is a renewed plea from the Vancouver Police for any witnesses of a violent assault in a downtown nightclub to come forward.

On Sunday night, a 17-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in a bathroom at the Encore Dance Club.

She was rushed to hospital with a number of injuries.

The incident is now before the courts.

A 16-year-old boy has since been charged with aggravated sexual assault and forcible confinement in connection with the incident. He remains in police custody.

He is also facing a new sexual assault charge, following a separate complaint. It’s believed the second incident happened in October, 2015.
