REGINA – The flight crew of an Air Ambulance with a patient onboard was hit with a laser near the Trans-Canada Highway on Wednesday night.

The airplane was transporting a patient from Swift Current when the crew was hit with a green laser for 15 to 20 seconds. This was just west of Swift Current and North of the Trans-Canada highway..

The crew notified air services who reported the incident to RCMP.

The flight was not affected by this incident and was able to proceed as normal.

Air Ambulance would like to remind the public about the danger of pointing lasers at aircraft. It is disorienting and blinding for pilots and quite dangerous. Charges from RCMP are also possible.
