Nick Chan is standing trial for the first-degree murder of rival gang member Sanjeev Mann. Mann, Aaron Bendle and innocent bystander Keni S’ua were all killed in the shooting at the Bolsa Restaurant on New Year’s Day 2009.

A publication ban prevents us from identifying the star witness. He is a confessed killer and was granted an immunity deal in exchange for his testimony in this trial.

He spent the full day Monday on the stand.

Court heard there was a payment system in place: $10,000 to whoever killed a rival gang member.

The trial is set to continue Tuesday.
