Police officers arrested him in the area of Nassau Street South and Walker Avenue shortly after 12 P.M. Officers called the man’s behaviour “combative” and had to use their tasers on him as they took him into custody.

The incident began when the accused met with a 19-year-old man and 17-year-old girl near St. Vital Bridge. The suspect then took out a gun and shot at the man, who was not hit. Both victims ran away to the girl’s home.

Shortly after, the suspect saw two family members of the girl in the area of Walker Avenue and Daly Street South and began firing on their van. No one was hit in this incident either. Officers had already begun looking for the suspect when they heard shot close by.

Two police officers  suffered minor injuries during the arrest.

The suspect now faces four counts of Attempted Murder Using a Firearm, Assault with a Weapon, two counts of Assaulting an Officer and a number of other gun-related offences.
