WINNIPEG – A large police presence in East Elmwood closed several streets as officers investigated a gun call.
At least a dozen marked and unmarked police vehicles converged on a house in the 600 block of Union Avenue.
Several streets surrounding the intersection were blocked off as at least three young men were taken into custody. An assault rifle was also seen being seized from the home.
“I’m not aware of reports of any shots being fired or any injuries,” said Constable Eric Hofley of Winnipeg Police Service.
Tim Walker, a neighbour said he was not surprised police were called to the home.
“People coming and going at odd hours,” said Tim Walker.
“You’d figure they’re running a courier company, but you have your own ideas.”
