The city of Montreal and its white collar union have reached a tentative contract deal.
The city announced late Friday in a press release that intensive conciliation efforts over the last few weeks have resulted in an agreement-in-principle that both parties will submit for ratification.
For the city, members of the executive committee will vote, while a general assembly will be held by the union for its 8,000 members.

Until both sides ratify the deal, its contents will be kept confidential.
The white collar workers began holding rotating strikes on January 25 but Friday’s agreement means they are putting an end to all pressure tactics immediately.
Mayor Denis Coderre praised both sides for their efforts to reach an agreement. He noted that “the end of pressure tactics means that starting tomorrow (Saturday) Montrealers will have access to all municipal installations just in time for March break.”
