WINNIPEG — Dozens gathered on Pritchard Avenue Thursday evening to honour the life of 41-year-old Marilyn Rose Munroe.

The Winnipeg mother’s body was found inside a North End home on Monday. Police are investigating the death as a homicide.

“We have to support each other when these things happen because, it’s hard,” Alana Beardy, a family friend said.

Friends and family drummed and marched to the Aboriginal Funeral Chapel, mourning the loss while sharing good memories.

“She was a really happy and bubbly person,” Beardy said.

The vigil landed on the second day of a national missing and murdered Indigenous women round table.
