Police are looking for a man who they say attempted to rob a Halifax bank and later robbed a Lower Sackville bank on the same day.

Around 10 a.m. on Feb. 10, a man went into the East Coast Credit Union on Kearney Lake Road and wanted to cash a cheque. When he was told the tellers did not have cash, he jumped over the counter and opened drawers. After he couldn’t find any money, he fled on foot toward Parkland Drive.

Police say he indicated he had a weapon, although witnesses did not see any.

Less than two hours later, RCMP responded to a robbery at the Scotiabank on Sackville Drive after a man entered and demanded money. Police say he fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Nobody was injured in either incident.
