Edmonton police investigate suspicious death in Chappelle neighbourhood

EDMONTON — Edmonton police are investigating a suspicious death after a man died of gunshot wounds he sustained over the weekend.

Police were called to a weapons complaint in the area of Chappelle Drive and Claxton Loop in the city’s far southwest at around 4:55 a.m. Sunday.

A man was taken to hospital with gunshot wounds and later died of his injuries. His identity has not been released.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Tuesday morning.
