Halifax police cruiser involved in head-on crash in Dartmouth

A Halifax Regional Police cruiser was involved in a head-on crash with a car on Pleasant St. on Friday.

A police spokesperson said investigators believe the car was travelling southbound on Pleasant Street when it crossed the centre line, hitting the cruiser that was travelling northbound.

Both drivers were taken to Dartmouth General hospital with minor injuries.

Police say they do anticipate laying charges under the Motor Vehicle Act, but won’t make a final decision until witness interviews are done.

Police closed Pleasant St. while emergency crews were on the scene.
