Witnesses sought after recycling truck crashes into 2 houses in Markham

TORONTO — Police are seeking witnesses after a recycling truck crashed into two houses in Markham Tuesday night.

York Regional police responded to a single-vehicle collision involving a recycling truck that left the road and drove into the backyard between two houses on Weeping Willow Lane, near Yonge Street and Orchard Boulevard, at about 5:40 p.m.

The collision caused damage to a hydro pole and a gas meter, but no injuries were reported.

Thirty-nine-year-old Warren Bovell has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and careless driving.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision who has not yet spoken with police is being asked to come forward.
