2 sought in Onion Lake Cree Nation assault

Mounties are looking for two suspects after an alleged assault in western Saskatchewan. Three other people have been charged after police were called to a residence on the Onion Lake Cree Nation on Monday morning.

Onion Lake RCMP say the emergency response team, two police dogs and members from surrounding detachments were called in to assist them as the initial investigation determined there may have been guns in the residence.

Nine people – seven men and two women – were initially taken into custody without incident.

Police have now charged Calvin Carter, Trevor Carter, and Loewen Wolfe with aggravated assault, forcible confinement, uttering threats and committing an offence for the benefit of a criminal organization.

Wolfe is also charged with assault with a weapon.

They were scheduled to appear Wednesday in Onion Lake provincial court.

Mounties have issued arrest warrants for two other men.
