MONTREAL – Quebec Finance Minister Carlos Leitao held a pre-budgetary consultation Monday night, meeting with students from McGill University.
Throughout the meeting, Leitao took questions from the public about issues like education and health.
He insisted more funds will be available for a variety of programs in the coming years, including for sustainable development and boosting public transit systems.
“We have met a number of groups that have told us what they expect, what they would like in the budget,” said Leitao.
“This was a new way of doing things, of consulting the student population of McGill, to see how we could improve the budget.”
Public consultations will continue over the coming weeks.
