Manitoba group calls for ban on spotlighting while hunting at night

WINNIPEG — The Manitoba Wildlife Federation is calling for a ban on spotlighting while hunting at night.

The Federation is hosting at event Tuesday morning, highlighting a “compelling story of a senior rural Manitoba couple victimized by spotlighting and night hunting.”

The organization is releasing its plan to ban the practice in populated areas of Manitoba. There will also be a re-enactment of night hunting, and the risks it can pose to public safety.

The event takes place at 9:30 a.m. at the Victoria Inn Hotel at 1808 Wellington Avenue.
