Toronto school bus driver facing additional charges of sexual assault involving children: police

TORONTO — A former Toronto school bus driver is facing additional charges of sexual assault involving young children.

Police say Frank Gavas has now been charged in connection with alleged incidents involving two preteen girls and a teenage boy between September 2013 and last January.

The 61-year-old Toronto resident is due in court in court Feb. 25 on three counts each of sexual assault and sexual interference.

Gavas was initially charged last month with six counts each of sexual assault and interference in alleged incidents involving three preteens between September 2015 and Jan. 15.

Spokesman Const. David Hopkinson says Gavas remains in custody pending his next court appearance.

Police say Frank Gavas had worked as a bus driver for Stock Transportation from 2006 and drove for numerous schools in the Scarborough area, including Georges Vanier Secondary School, Wexford Public School, George Peck Public School and Sloane Public School.

Police believe there may be other alleged victims.
