EDMONTON – Twelve original Edmonton ideas, including building a warming hut at Hawrelak Park and a coloured ice art installation, will soon be a reality.
Make Something Edmonton announced the recipients of its winter-themed Project Accelerator Grant at the beginning of February.
The project’s winning applicants all started out independently and, according to Make Something Edmonton, applied for the grants to give themselves an extra boost to meet their goals.
Edmonton is a winter city and the projects aim to improve life during the colder months and create something unique.
Some of the other winning ideas include organizing a night-time winter bike and a Slush Cup Competition, where people try to ski or snowboard across a pool of water.
The microgrants range from $200 to $2,500, with a total of $15,000 available.
The completion deadline for these projects is Mar. 20, 2016.
