In addition to the hubbub of activities at the community centre, there were plenty of festivities for families up and down the valley.

Spiderman and Cinderella descended upon West Kelowna for the third annual Princess and Superhero Skate.

The event is a fundraiser in honour of a little girl who passed away from an aggressive form of leukemia. The money goes to support pediatric cancer research.

In Vernon, close to a thousand people bundled up at Polson Park, where the festivities were celebrated along with the 56th Winter Carnival.
