Dustin Byfuglien to stay a Winnipeg Jet

WINNIPEG — The Winnipeg Jets have re-signed key defenceman Dustin Byfuglien.

The fan favourite has agreed to a five-year contract extension worth $38 million.

So far this season Byfuglien has netted 15 goals and recorded 32 points for the team.

Last week, Byfuglien told media how much he liked and wanted to stay in the city.

With Byfuglien now locked up, that leaves Andrew Ladd’s future in question with the team.

The captain’s contract is almost up and he  set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.
