Snowmobile collision near Sudbury leaves two dead, sends toddler to hospital

FRENCH RIVER, Ont. – Ontario Provincial Police say two people have died in a snowmobile collision on the Murdock River, south of Sudbury.

Police say a 42-year-old man was driving the snowmobile near some ice fishing huts near the community of Alban.

Investigators say the snowmobile collided with a 29-year-old woman.

The snowmobile driver has been identified as James Nathan Wright, and the woman is Julie Piotrowski.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene.

A one-year-old child was also injured, and taken to hospital.
